What you'll do
As a Technology Governance Specialist, you’ll ensure the effective and efficient use of IT infrastructure solutions across the bank. By driving convergence on common solutions in line with our hosting strategy, you'll support projects in quickly delivering value to our customers while reducing operational risk and total cost of ownership within our Technology estate.
Day-to-day, you’ll be:
- Work with stakeholders to assure the IT infrastructure elements of Solution Designs, ensuring any divergence from the bank’s Strategy and Standards is assessed for impact, and risk managed where required
- Oversee the adoption and lifecycle management of IT infrastructure products, ensuring the products delivered are fit for purpose and catalogued for re-use
- Drive the production and maintenance of product documentation that demonstrates compliance with bank Policy, and facilitates easy consumption of the products by customers
- Manage supporting decision-making forums, ensuring the decisions taken are formally recorded, communicated and can be retrieved as required
The skills you'll need
You’ll have a solid background in IT infrastructure with working experience of architecture and design, and change and risk management frameworks. You’ll need an understanding of Agile and contemporary methodologies with experience of working in Agile teams.
You'll also bring:
- Technical knowledge, including platform, technology, products and domains
- An understanding of the Operational Risk Management practices used to keep the bank secure and resilient
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to colleagues, including management level
- Good collaboration and stakeholder management skills
- A solid background working in an Agile or DevOps environment with continuous delivery and continuous integration
