What you'll do
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player to join our release and environment engineering team. Together with your team colleagues you will look after all tasks related to Avaloq release planning and deployment activities.
You will be responsible for managing Avaloq stack releases and improvement projects, preparation of environments and handling of code changes from integration to installation. Our ideal candidate has some experience in Avaloq world and wants to pursue an engineering career that will allow them to broaden their general knowledge, and deep-dive into maintenance of environments and technical tools for developers.
The Avaloq sub-teams include: Release and Environment Engineering / Release Management, Batch Engineering, and Performance and Data Growth, providing the right person with multiple learning opportunities across the Technical Application Management department. The function collaborates closely with Release Governance, Application Management, Operations, 3rd-party developers, Infrastructure, Release Management for Satellite Systems and IT Test Management.
You’ll also be responsible for:
Responsible to execute all Avaloq release and environment management services Avaloq (ACP, AFP, ACPR), e.g. integration of changes and deployment into test environments on IBM and OpenShift stacks
Close collaboration with Test Management and Release Delivery Services to ensure high quality releases
Planning and execution of deployment activities including active participation in cutover management
Support of release management and development related tool set, e.g. rolling out new ICEWorkbench versions, administration and optimization of ADAI stack inclusive of the integration robot; building into the code assistant to ensure coding quality
Set up and monitoring of ACP and AFP environements, regular execution of environment health and sanity checks, troubleshooting and resolution of environment issues
Continuous identification of improvements in processes and quality of services
Troubleshooting integration / server installation / tooling issues
Delivery of consulting services and support to other departments for technology and deployment (e.g. software developers)
Gatekeeping for Avaloq environments (assisting with code reviews, code audit, ASMD reviews, development factory, system performance monitoring where required)
Contact person for Avaloq Release Management (release planning, downloads, issue raising and resolution)
Assistance with Avaloq / Oracle / Firmware upgrades
The skills you'll need
To succeed in this role, you will preferably have a track record in release management, and be able to plan/control and manage lifecycle of tasks and software changes. Ideally, you will have a thorough understanding of Avaloq core platform and its related technical concepts (Oracle database, Avaloq object model, BGPs, doc_logger, CPU and memory usage etc.). We additionally expect you to have related professional training or IT experience record, or a degree in computer science/engineering (or equivalent).
