Join us as a Privacy Officer
- This is a great opportunity to take on a challenging and interesting role and deliver a right first time culture across RBS International (RBSI)
- We’ll look to you to manage our regulatory data protection requirements across all our jurisdictions, making sure they are interpreted and implemented, and associated risks are minimised

- We're offering a salary up to £72,050 for this role

What you'll do
As a Privacy Officer, you’ll be providing expertise and guidance to colleagues across the bank at all levels in response to data protection and privacy queries. You’ll be driving collaboration across all areas to ensure an effective and up to date awareness of data protection and privacy requirements, providing data protection training and helping identify high risk data processing.
You’ll also be responsible for:
- Reviewing Data Protection Impact Assessments, assessing privacy risks and controls across RBSI, helping business areas to help customers safely
- Advising areas on privacy issues and related customer concerns
- Reviewing processes to deliver a consistent approach to all stakeholders
- Reviewing and assessing data breaches, ensuring any risks to customers are managed effectively
- Providing guidance and oversight on Data Subject Access requests
- Supporting a continuous improvement culture and making sure best practices and learnings are shared across business areas and forums
The skills you'll need
We’re looking for someone with an understanding of projects, risk management and controls, preferably with a risk management, privacy or regulatory background.
You’ll also need:
- A good understanding of the data protection environment and associated laws
- Relevant privacy qualifications, CIPP/E standard or a commitment to achieving them
- An eye for detail and a willingness to learn about our legal, regulatory and statutory data protection obligations
- Good communication skills, written, verbal and delivery of presentations
- Collaboration skills and the ability to work on your own or as part of a wider team as required
