Join us as a Senior Strategy and Engagement Manager

  • This role presents an opportunity to leverage your strong strategy experience to help shape and drive our department strategy, ensuring we execute and update the strategy as the team evolves.
  • The role will work closely with the rest of the department to understand our strategic direction and facilitate senior stakeholder meetings, creating the reporting framework to support these meetings
  • You'll be coordinating resources, undertaking research and providing thought leadership and planning support to the Head of of Partnerships & Open Experience (OX) in advance of key events, forums and strategy sessions

What you'll do

The team sits within Group Strategy with dual reporting into Services, reflecting the significant strategic importance to overall NatWest Group priorities, purpose and growth strategy.

Reporting into the Head of Business Performance and community, you will take ownership of communicating and reporting against our strategic goals and roadmap to senior stakeholders. You'll focus on strategic analysis of business plans, projects and innovation, working with the wider team to present the analysis and solutions to leaders.

You’ll also:

  • Help shape and communicate our strategic vision and roadmap, owning and coordinating business planning activities for the delivery of our strategic objectives and targets
  • Own and run the P&OX stakeholder governance and engagement meetings and drafting high-level executive stakeholder reports
  • Utilise your strong report writing skills, critical thinking and analytical skills to create briefs and presentations for senior executives including the CEO and Board
  • Conduct research, analysing market and industry trends helping to drive outside in thinking
  • Facilitate the consolidation of strategic plans for the wider team
  • Analyse our performance, competitor activity, potential growth opportunities and customer behaviours to help shape the strategic focus and themes for the department

The skills you'll need

You'll need excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clearly, concisely and without jargon .This will be coupled with strong leadership skills and experience of influencing at Exco level.

You should also have the ability to absorb complex information and provide advice balancing commercial and risk factors.

You’ll also need:

  • Strong operational and planning skills
  • Project management and executive level reporting experience
  • Strong strategy experience with the ability to produce strategic and provoking ExCo level reports and point of view documents
  • Extensive knowledge of banking, technological innovation, consumer behaviour and decision support with an excellent understanding of external market trends impacting on society.
  • Experience in owning and developing business plans, developing strategic recommendations and influencing strategic change
