We are looking for an Application and Environment Manager to join our team in Zurich.

What you'll do

In this role, you’ll be responsible to design, plan and implement file transfers from UK to Zurich or vice versa based on demands from the business or projects. You will support people in the requesting stage of file transfers and you will support in case of issues in PROD/non-PROD environments.

You will also manage our ITSM tool (Serviceware Processes, Windows server based). In this function you will work closely with the product owner and implement new functionalities. You will coordinate with users, projects and business and act as single point of contact for any enquiries. Solving PROD issues on time, delivering of reports etc. will also be part of this role.

The function is positioned within a newly built team “Application Management” which collaborates closely with technical Release Managers, Project Managers, IT Operations, and 3rd parties.

You’ll also be responsible for:

  • Identifying and managing stakeholders, get an understanding of their needs during the stages from development to productive deployments of changes and driving a consolidated plan

  • Being the central point of communication for all aspects of environment management and co-ordination contact between Project Managers, Release Managers and technical environment owners (TSO’s)

The skills you'll need

To succeed in this role, you must have a vast knowledge of Unix systems (Mainly RHEL) with an IT/Technical background and computer science degree. Ideally, you will have a thorough understanding of Application Management and fundamental knowledge of Banking. Besides a basic knowledge of Windows server, we are expecting candidates to be capable to write, analyze and optimize written code (C#, java, shell scripting, python). Additionally, you should also have a good understanding of SSH and certificate handling.

You’ll also demonstrate:

  • Own initiative, self-starter qualities and persistency

  • Analytical & structured thinking / working

  • Good social grace in contact with Project Managers, Release Managers and 3rd party providers

  • Good team player skills

  • Willing to work outside of standard business hours and as well to provide On-Call service on weekends and week days.

  • be fluent in English (spoken and written) and German
