Join us as a Corporate Tax Manager

  • If you have broad and up-to-date knowledge of UK corporation tax and IAS12, you could be just the person we’re looking for to join our Tax team
  • You'll be sharing your expertise primarily for the group’s internal and external tax reporting processes, such as the annual report and accounts, interim reporting, tax forecasting and budgeting

What you'll do

As our Corporate Tax Manager, you’ll be harnessing your technical tax and accounting knowledge to provide extensive input to NatWest Group’s tax reporting processes. You’ll liaise with other Finance colleagues to gather the necessary pre-tax legal entity inputs, applying the appropriate tax adjustments, and producing consolidated and solo tax accounting, forecasts and budgets for key internal and external stakeholders.

In particular, you’ll be:

  • Preparing and reviewing solo and consolidated tax accounting figures and disclosures for monthly reporting, quarterly interim management statements, and full year reports and accounts
  • Producing tax P&L and balance sheet forecasting to support external financial reporting, such as deferred tax asset valuations and judgemental item, internal budgets and multiple stress testing scenarios for key regulators like the Bank of England
  • Working on ad hoc tax reporting, compliance, advisory and systems and process transformation projects

The skills you'll need

We're looking for someone with a qualification in professional accounting or significant and demonstrable accounting experience. You’ll also have a background in tax management too, either in a major organisation or UK accounting firm, along with significant and recent experience in corporation tax and tax accounting.

You’ll also need:

  • Excellent knowledge of IAS12 and IAS12 deferred tax accounting
  • Great communication skills
  • The ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Good analytical skills
  • The ability to flex and adapt to deliver against tight deadlines
  • A self-starter approach to continuous improvement

Previous experience in tax forecasting and budgeting would be beneficial.
