Jon Dean, Data Engineer NatWest Digital X: Hi everyone, my name is John

Ade Akande, Data and Analytics Manager: My name is Ade Akande, I’m a data analytics manager and I work in the commercial and networks markets

Text: What are our Data and Analytics jobs really like?

Rachel: I work on a lot of projects that analyse how customers interact with us and try and figure out kind of patterns and customer behaviour but also how we can better interact with customers and make those interaction channels better for our customers.

Jon: I’m really lucky here at NatWest to be given the opportunities to work on the projects that I work on.

Shoaib: I think what excites me about work is working on so many interesting problems within the bank.

Ade: Every day is different every day is a new challenge every day is a new problem to solve and I really love solving using data to solve those problems and try to get to a conclusion that we can track and understand.

Shoaib: I think lots of opportunities you have the data Academy within the bank which is an opening within Academy you can do courses you know simple coding courses or you can even do some nanodegrees which I’ve done which I’ve done in about 2019.

Rachel: I’ve recently moved from a data analyst to a data scientist role and my job gave me a lot of support to do the training that I needed to do that.

Jon: Data analytics is over a thousand staff all working in different departments all working on different things. Whether it’s fraud, whether it’s data quality and data management, retail banking analytics. We’ve got loads of different brands within the bank. There’s just so much work out there.

Ade: Everything from you know the interview process that we do, to in the meetings we have, to of the packs that we create. You see this ongoing trend of talking about the customer families business and families and helping them Thrive. So our NatWest is extremely extremely customer focused I would say.
