Our goal in Digital Transformation

As a relationship bank for a digital world, our focus is on the digital transformation supported by data driven insights to help us best support our customers, whilst keeping our bank safe and secure using the latest technologies to drive, influence and execute change and transformation across the bank.

We pave the way for the bank to be digital, data and purpose driven – keeping us ahead of the curve when meeting the needs of our customers.

What’s great about the programme?

Every area of our business is different – they each need their own skillsets, their own challenges, their own nuances. What better way to find out what working in a business area is like, than from the people who already work there?

Speaker: Dominika Chrastilova

Tell us about Digital Transformation

Dominika: The Digital Transformation programme spans multiple areas of the bank. The main purpose of the programme I think, is to really think about our customers and their needs and the experience they’re having when they’re interacting with the bank and how to make this as good as possible.

How has being part of Data and Analytics team stretched you professionally?

Dominika: Being part of the Digital Transformation programme has been really helping me to develop my professional skills in many different ways, and this is the big advantage of this programme.

So there really are so many different ways you can get involved and keep developing yourself. So for example, alongside my daily work in my team, I have been working on completing professional qualifications.

I’m also involved in various extracurricular activities such as the programme Working Group, Graduate Council and Employee networks and various volunteering opportunities, which I really enjoyed very much.

Another thing I would mention is part of this programme is to go through four different placements, which means you need to learn how to adapt to change. And I think this is a really useful skill to build and to have for your future career.

What do you find most exciting about Digital Transformation?

Dominika: So what do I find most exciting about a programme?

For me it has been the variety of work and the amount of opportunities for learning. So during the programme you’re exposed to different areas of the bank different teams, different projects, and this has been really helping me to develop my skills, build my network and to learn from my colleagues, which I am finding is such an important part of my learning here.

Is the programme for you?

Does developing the future skills needed to support our bank’s strategy and purpose excite you? Do you enjoy new experiences and variety? Then read on.

Variety is key on this programme, providing you with diverse placement experiences across the many different business areas and teams which make up this programme.

Whether that’s driving organisational transformation, supporting critical projects like our climate strategy, developing and executing our customer digital journeys or helping to stop fraudsters in their tracks, keeping the bank and customers safe.

The aim of this eight-week Internship is to give you the chance to gain vital skills such as digital literacy, agile methodologies and creative thinking as well as gaining experience working within a large organisation. You’ll experience a taste of what it’s like to work here, along with valuable skills and experiences that you’ll take into your future career.

Who can support you?

For the full eight weeks, we’ll pair you with a ‘buddy’ and a line manager, who’ll support you in gaining valuable experience to help guide your career choices.

During the programme, you’ll also work with other interns on a business project. This will help you develop key skills covering team working, planning, creative thinking, presenting, business plan writing and problem solving – gaining crucial experience in presenting to stakeholders. You’ll also get time to support good causes in the communities we serve through a community giveback day.
