Life in Manchester
Dubbed Manchester’s answer to London’s Canary Wharf, Spinningfields is a vibrant area of the city.
It’s the leading regional business quarter in the UK, and is home to dozens of world class financial and commercial services organisations.
Our neighbourhood
It’s a fantastic place to work – a stroll around the area offers charming green spaces and an abundance of bars and restaurants. Local gyms make it easy to fit in a lunch time fitness session, and if you like to shop, you'll find Harvey Nic’s, Selfridges and the Arndale shopping centre around the corner too.
There’s more to Spinningfields than shops and fancy places to eat and drink, though. It’s firmly established as a venue for culture and entertainment, playing host to public art pieces and home to The John Rylands Library and People’s History Museum. The office itself sits next to the River Irwell, a picturesque setting for your lunch on any day.
Getting around
One of the best things about Manchester is how easy it is to get from A to B. There’s a free bus service that stops at key points around the city, including Victoria and Manchester Piccadilly train stations, that’ll drop you right outside the office. The Metrolink is a quick way to get around the city too.
If you’re commuting into Manchester, it’s still easy to get into and out of the city. There are several major rail stations nearby that offer direct services to Liverpool, Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield, and they’re only a 10-20 minute walk from the office.
If you prefer to do your commute on two wheels, our office has bike racks for you to store your bike in. There’s also a car park close by, which offers parking at a reduced price to NatWest Group workers.
