Speaker: Lisa Naples
Who are you?
Lisa: I’m Lisa, and I’m an apprentice in Finance, and I currently work in the Finance Central Controls team at NatWest Group.
What made you choose this apprenticeship?
Lisa: As I was a little bit older, I wanted to be able to continue my education, while still being able to earn and gain further knowledge in my chosen field.
Describe your apprenticeship in three words?
Lisa: I’d say it’s been engaging, challenging and definitely motivational.
Why NatWest Group for Your Apprenticeship?
Lisa: I wanted to be able to work for a company who had lots of variety but also allowed me to develop professionally and academically at the same time.
What’s the best thing about your apprenticeship?
Lisa: Being able to earn and study at the same time.
Where are you now on your apprenticeship journey?
Lisa: I’m currently on my third placement in the bank and I’m halfway through my second year at Robert Gordon university.
How are you rewarded?
Lisa: The fact that I’m able to do different placements means that I’ve gained knowledge across loads of different areas within finance, which has been a massive bonus. Outside of my role, I’ve also been able to do things that I wouldn’t have ever dreamed of, such as volunteering at COP26.
How will your future career look with the qualification you’ll gain following your apprenticeship?
Lisa: By the end of my apprenticeship, I’ll be a fully qualified ICAS accountant and I’ll be able to utilise these skills across any area of finance within any industry.
