Text: Who are you?

Lisa Naples, Accounting Graduate Apprentice: I’m Lisa, and I’m an apprentice in Finance, and I currently work in the Finance Central Controls team at NatWest Group.

Text: What made you choose this apprenticeship?

Lisa: As I was a little bit older, I wanted to be able to continue my education, while still being able to earn and gain further knowledge in my chosen field.

Text: Describe your apprenticeship in three words?

Lisa: I’d say it’s been engaging, challenging and definitely motivational.

Text: Why NatWest Group for Your Apprenticeship?

Lisa: I wanted to be able to work for a company who had lots of variety but also allowed me to develop professionally and academically at the same time.

Text: What’s the best thing about your apprenticeship?

Lisa: Being able to earn and study at the same time.

Text: Where are you now on your apprenticeship journey?

Lisa: I’m currently on my third placement in the bank and I’m halfway through my second year at Robert Gordon university.

Text: How are you rewarded?

Lisa: The fact that I’m able to do different placements means that I’ve gained knowledge across loads of different areas within finance, which has been a massive bonus. Outside of my role, I’ve also been able to do things that I wouldn’t have ever dreamed of, such as volunteering at COP26.

Text: How will your future career look with the qualification you’ll gain following your apprenticeship?

Lisa: By the end of my apprenticeship, I’ll be a fully qualified ICAS accountant and I’ll be able to utilise these skills across any area of finance within any industry.

Who we’re looking for

Unless you’re looking to do a Degree Level Apprenticeship you don’t need any formal qualifications to apply for one of our apprenticeships, so who are we looking for?

Do you like helping others? Do you like learning new skills and helping others do the same? Do you like to do things the right way instead of the quick way? If you answered “yes” to any of these then a Specialist Business Support Apprenticeship is the perfect place for you.

We work hard to make sure our customers feel safe banking with us. We couldn’t do that without people like you, working hard to make sure our key business areas are running the way they’re supposed to.

Step 3: Ability test (Degree Level apprenticeships only)

For a Degree Level apprenticeship, you’ll also be asked to complete an ability test. This comes before the video interview. It lasts about 10 minutes and you’ll be using your problem solving and numeracy skills. There are practice tests available in the ‘help’ option once you’re in the assessment platform.

Step 4: Pre-recorded video assessment

This is your chance to tell us more about you. You’ll record timed answers to pre-recorded questions in a video interview. There’s a mix of motivational, competency, and scenario-based questions. It should take around 20 minutes to complete.
