Learning
Our commitment to learning means we’re always investigating new technologies to see how they can help customers. We use the data we gather to learn more about customers’ need, and we learn from the best businesses in industry to help us keep improving.
Everyone here has access to exceptional learning resources and all new frontline colleagues are professionally accredited within 18 months. We help customers learn too, with a commitment to making sure 2.5m of them every year can better understand their finances. And with our Career Sense programme, we help young people learn more about career options.

Climate
We’re very active in the transition to a green economy. We became carbon net zero in 2020 and we want to be climate positive by 2025.
We’re making sure the renewables sector can access the funding it needs, aligning our lending policy to the Paris Agreement and seeking to halve the climate impact of our lending by 2030. Additionally, 25% of the places on our Entrepreneur Accelerator programme are purely for climate focused businesses.
We’re helping customers make better climate choices, with green mortgage products offering incentives to purchase energy-efficient homes. Plus, our remote-first working policy means less commuting for our people, and less carbon emissions.

Enterprise
We’re committed to creating 50,000 new UK businesses, and supporting over 5000,000 people to consider entrepreneurship, by the end of 2023. Our Business Builder and Entrepreneur Accelerator schemes are giving people the skills they need to be their own boss.
Plus, a review led by our CEO made recommendations to UK government to help more women start their own business, which we’ve backed up with our Dream Bigger project, helping girls develop entrepreneurial skills. And our people benefit from our commitment to enterprise too, with our Entrepreneurial Development Academy helping them to develop a growth mindset and business skills.

Our salaries start at £33,500 for graduates and £22,600 for internships (pro rata).

Get ready to apply
Ready to apply for one of our graduate programmes, internships, or insight experiences? Here’s all you need to know about the application process.

You can be studying any degree programme for the majority of our roles, and we accept applications until we’ve filled the places available. You can only apply for one graduate or internship programme in one location, and once you’ve decided which to go for, make sure you don’t miss out and get the application done as soon as you can.
Whichever programme you’re applying for, start by clicking the ‘Apply’ button and you’ll be taken to our Workday site. You’ll need to create a free account if you’ve not already done so, and there’s a few quick questions just to check your eligibility.
Next up is an online assessment. You’ll consider some real-life work situations to see how your values match up to ours, and there is a short logic test. There’s plenty of guidance and support during the assessment and you’ll get feedback straight away.
Then it’s on to the video interview. There are some questions for you to record yourself answering, a mix of motivational, competency, and scenario-based, and they’re based on our Critical People Capabilities – Improver Innovator, Change Ready, Critical Thinker, Connected, and Trusted Advisor.

For graduate and internship places, we’ll assess your video interview, and if we’re happy you’ll be invited to a virtual assessment centre. It’s a fun and full day, all online, during which we’ll assess your skills and strengths and see how well you collaborate. We get lots of applications so don’t worry if there’s a short delay before we get back to you after your video interview. Once you’ve completed the virtual assessment, we’ll be in touch within 7 days to tell you the outcome and to offer you a place if you’ve been successful.

You can apply for a role right now by visiting our Early Careers hub. For an internship programme, you need to be in your penultimate year of study and on track for a 2.1. Our graduate programmes are open to all graduates with a 2:1 degree, regardless of when you graduated.
